From Amethyst staff and members of the Advisory Group a big THANK YOU to
all who were involved in the AMETHYST project over its eight years .

| Amethyst
Project Community Development Worker was Mary Anderson
- 'My job is to make contact with women and groups of women
and work with them to set up activities as appropriate.
Very often this
involves training devised for a specific purpose, such as
the Confidence Building course at Warslow, or the Farm Secretarial
sessions in Bakewell.
It could also
be getting together a social group, or a different sort
of activity like Moorlands Walks With Children.'

The
Amethyst Project worked with women in rural areas, using
a community development approach to make contact with individuals
and groups. |
|
|
It
identified ideas for rurally-based activities and community
enterprises arising from the individuals and groups, which
address a local community need. |
|
|
It
provided appropriate support to women to develop their ideas.
|
|
|
This
included financial and mentoring support to enable women
to undertake the necessary research and development work
to bring their ideas to fruition.
