Amethyst Project Community Development Worker was Mary Anderson - 'My job is to make contact with women and groups of women and work with them to set up activities as appropriate.
Very often this involves training devised for a specific purpose, such as the Confidence Building course at Warslow, or the Farm Secretarial sessions in Bakewell.
It could also be getting together a social group, or a different sort of activity like Moorlands Walks With Children.'

The Amethyst Project worked with women in rural areas, using a community development approach to make contact with individuals and groups.
It identified ideas for rurally-based activities and community enterprises arising from the individuals and groups, which address a local community need.
It provided appropriate support to women to develop their ideas.
This included financial and mentoring support to enable women to undertake the necessary research and development work to bring their ideas to fruition.                 >>MORE ABOUT OUR AIMS
